Bruno Cesselli

After strict traditional studies, since 1980 he has been interested in jazz and improvisation. From that moment he also began the activity of composer and arranger, which continues to this day with the elaboration of scores for the most varied formations; he is commissioned numerous works by local and Italian orchestras, and by European orchestras, as well as many compositions for chamber formations, from duo, to quartet to ensembles of various types. He collaborates with Italian and foreign musicians, an activity that over the years will see him alongside Art Farmer, Lee Konitz, Mark Egan, Rachel Gould, Maurizio Caldura, Sal Nistico, Massimo Urbani, Larry Nocella, Kenny Wheeler, Jean-Loup Longnon, Marco Tamburini, Toon Roos, Eliot Zigmund, Cameron Brown, Bob Mover, Lew Soloff, Chris Hunter, Dick Oatts, Larry Ridley, Steve Lacy, Paul McCandless, Ted Curson, Charles Tolliver, Enrico Rava, Claudio Roditi, Gary Bartz, Cecil Bridgewater, Mark Murphy, Jay Clayton, Jean-Jacques Avenel, Carlos Werneck, Raul Mascarenhas, Stefano Cantini, Ares Tavolazzi, Ray Mantilla, Barbara Morrison, Tony Scott, Barbara Casini, Shawnn Monteiro, Fabrizio Bosso, and many, many others. He carries out a very intense concert activity, participating in many Italian and international festivals, including Umbria Jazz (1985 and 1987), Geneva, Basel, Frankfurt, Paris (piano solo - 1991), San Sebastian, Madrid and Alicante (Spain), Vienne (France), Berlin, Pori Jazz Festival (Finland - 1993), Liublijana (2000, 2006), Maribor (Festival Lent - 1999, 2004, 2005), Kranj (2007), Clusone (2007), Rome (Casa del Jazz - 2007). He has about 200 record publications to his credit, to which he adds sound commentaries for film, music for ballet and stage music.
