Raffaele De Giacometti

He studied composition at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto with Mario Pagotto and Nicola Straffelini and conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is a winner of several competitions including the International Competition for Sacred Composition Anima Mundi, the "Guido d'Arezzo" International Composition Competition, the Japan International Choral Composition Competition and the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition. He has collaborated with numerous artists, particularly guitarist Marco Ramelli and saxophonist Luis Lanzarini, and his compositions have been performed on commission in Italy and abroad. An expert in choral music, he has been director music of the Coro Centro Artístico de Granada and the Cathures Choir in Glasgow. As a conductor he has had the opportunity to conduct the RSNO, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera Orchestra, RCS Symphonic Orchestra, Red Note Ensemble and VenetOrchestra. He teaches theory, rhythm and music perception at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto.
