Roberto Zarpellon

He graduated in Organ and Organ Composition from the Conservatorio "S.ta Cecilia" in Rome in 1985. 

He graduated from the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien in 1988 under Prof. A. Mitterhofer at the "Orgelkonzertfach." He also studies Kirchenmusik (choral conducting with E. Ortner), and conducting (O. Suitner, U. Lajovic). 

Completing his training with M. Radulescu and N. Harnoncourt - early music - and with S. Vegh in Salzburg.

He made his debut at the Wiener Festwochen in 2017. In 1988 at the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Itria Valley Festival.

He has conducted ancient repertoire (with original instruments-with Fabio Biondi for many years-or by applying the Baroque language to modern instruments, an area in which he is recognized as one of the pioneers) up to Romantic and modern in centers including Vienna (Musikverein-Goldenasaal, Konzerthaus), Salzburg (Mozarteum, Alte-Universitätskirche), Cologne (Kölner Philharmonie and WDR), Berlin (Konzerthaus), Budapest, Schloß Esterhazy-Eisenstadt, Bonn (Beethoven Festival), Belgrade Philharmonie, Linz (Brucknerhaus-Festival A. Bruckner), for the Ente Arena di Verona, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Comunale "C. Abbado" in Ferrara, Sala Nervi and Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, as well as in the United States, Brazil and Japan.

Upcoming engagements include conducting Puccini's Requiem (orchestration R. Zarpellon) and Verdi's Requiem at the Vienna Musikverein.
