Graduating in harp in 1988, she has attended master classes in modern harp (with G. Albisetti, F. Pierre, S. Mildonian, C. Michel), and performance practice on historical harps (with M. Galassi). An award-winner in over a dozen national and international competitions, she has numerous solo and chamber CDs to her credit. She has served on the juries of major international competitions, including the "International Harp Contest in Israel" (Tel Aviv).
In 1996 she graduated in Musicology from the faculty of Cremona with highest honors, cum laude and dignity. Considered one of the world's leading experts on the history of the harp, she is the author of more than 300 publications, including five monographs, and has lectured and taught courses at conservatories and universities in Italy and abroad. The harp compositions she has rediscovered have been included as compulsory pieces in the programs of various international competitions, including the Israel Competition, and recorded on numerous CDs. Many are also her articles that have appeared within journals and volumes of studies and the librettos written for CDs recorded by colleagues.
She worked as a consultant on the restoration of a 16th-century double harp (Galleria Estense, Modena) and from 2004 to 2008 was the curator of the "Victor Salvi" Harp Museum in Piasco (CN). In 2012 she was awarded the "Pepi Morgia Prize" for the dissemination of the harp and in 2013 the "Harpo Marx Prize."
